5- Consuming oats on a daily basis has been shown to reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients with borderline and mild hypertension [Keenan et al. 2002]. According to “The Journal of Family Practice,” eating oats can reduce systolic pressure by a maximum of 7.5 points and can reduce diastolic pressure by a maximum of 5.5 points [“Oatmeal and Blood Pressure” n.d.].
